Young Yim Doh is an invited professor at KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology and the director of the Games and Life Lab. She holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in psychology from Yonsei University. Her expertise lies in lifespan developmental psychology, cyberpsychology, and game studies. As the Director of the Games and Life Lab, she conducts research from a psychological perspective, analyzing changes in player behavior, and the resulting social/cultural phenomena from the integration of digital game experiences and real-life experiences. Taking a lifespan developmental psychology perspective, the Games and Life Lab strives to understand the diversity of player experiences, adapting to new technological advancements and life contexts using mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) and/or participatory design approach. The lab builds both conceptual frameworks and practical solutions for industry-related challenges. Currently, her research explores topics such as 'player preferences for artistic experiences in games,' 'accessibility and inclusivity in games and the metaverse,' and 'sustainability and scalability of games and the metaverse' in anticipation of future changes in the gaming market.
